Midsummer House Restaurant
your comments review this restaurant
4 of us went to the Midsummer House on a Saturday. To our horror the only food on offer was two, set, tasting menus. You could only select one complete menu for your whole table irrespective of the diverse tastes of 4 people. Personally I expect to pick the food I want to eat from a reasonable selection and not be forced to eat a bunch of starter size dishes that satisfies the chefs ego.
This shows an arrogance beyond belief. We were not informed of this atrocious limitation when booking. We had been to this restaurant on a number of occasions but we will not be returning. The staff, particularly the head waiter showed an arrogance not seen before and at one stage the wine waiter topped up my wife's wine with the wrong wine. The staff acted as though they were doing us a favour in serving us.
